  23. Multi-Edit Lite is a scaled down version of Multi-Edit, the best text
  24. editor on the market today.  It is great for all of those "quickie" jobs
  25. that don't require the power of the full blown version of Multi-Edit.
  26. Multi-Edit Lite is also great where disk space is a problem, like your
  27. laptop system!

  29. Multi-Edit Lite lets you edit up to 25 files at a time.  The files may
  30. be of any size.  Multi-Edit Lite contains the same Virtual Memory
  31. Manager and Windowing capabilities as Multi-Edit Professional.
  32. Multi-Edit Lite will use XMS/EMS memory, and can swap itself out to
  33. about 2.5K when shelling to dos or running other programs.

  35. You can compile programs inside Multi-Edit Lite, and most popular
  36. compilers are supported for automatic error location.  Unlike
  37. Multi-Edit Pro, Lite has only a single, non-extension specific,
  38. compiler menu.

  40. To start Multi-Edit Lite, just type MEL.  Multi-Edit Lite only requires
  41. two files to operate:  MEL.EXE and MEL.CFG.  MEL.HLZ is the online help
  42. file, and is optional.  If you request online help, and MEL.HLZ is not
  43. located, then Multi-Edit Lite will simply pop-up the key assignment
  44. list.  The manual for Multi-Edit Lite is entirely in the on-line help.
  45. To start learning about it, just bring up MEL, and press F1.

  47. Although Lite does not have a macro language, it contains the same
  48. powerful Keystroke Macro capabilities as Multi-Edit Professional.
